Variations of Blasting
We have a range of Blasting Medias to suit a wide variety of metals, including different strengths of steel grit, crushed glass bead, soda, aqua and chromate. We offer this service as a solo treatment or as preparation prior to powder coating.
Shot Blasting – Steel
We have multiple shot blasting facilities on our site which use a steel grit, which are ideal for shot blasting steel products, whether this is to remove impurities or to prepare the metal for the next process, such as powder coating or hot thermal zinc. For any refurb work for parts already coated/rusty, we have a pyrolysis oven to remove old paint and debris, prior to shot blasting.
Glass Bead Blasting – Aluminium
Alongside the shot blasters, we also have a glass blasting unit which is primarily used for the blasting of aluminium and other fragile metals. This is a much less powerful media which is often used to prepare the metals for either powder coating or wet spraying. One of the most popular products this is used for is car chassis’ and motorbike frames.
Soda Blasting
Soda blasting is another type of blast cleaning that we offer, which is often used for the removal of oil, grease and other impurities. The reason why this is sometimes preferred is due to the fact that the process doesn’t alter the base material, which is why it is used for car and engine parts, amongst many other items.
Aqua/Vapour Blasting
Vapour blasting is a wet, abrasive process which cleans material using high water pressure and extremely fine media. This results in a cleaner surface and is good for the preservation of products.
